Lights, Camera, Action! We solve real crimes with the help of your secret agent! We are all set with our online Zoom art classes which include:
Painting, Sculpture, Art History and Creative Writing.
All Art Crimes stories are based on true stories while customized to your agents interest. In addition to learning art history, various painting and sculpture techniques, your secret agent will also be engaging the relationship between applied linguistics and creative language and writing.
I have created more than 1000 paintings in my lifetime. 825 of them are currently listed on my website. At the age of 45, I thrive as an artist because I am disciplined and committed to my work. More importantly, I have learned how to foster my relationship to language, both in how my own work perceives language and how words help me achieve and secure national and state grants to continue my work. Writing is an important part of being an artist.
Art Crimes, a co-creation of my husband Chris and I, was developed during the pandemic. My husband and I wanted to develop a project that would bring together our strengths. It has been so much fun! Chris brings a BA in Journalism from Indiana University School of Journalism and taught high school English for 10 years before transitioning into a software engineer position. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art from Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle, initiated my graduate work with New York University at the (New York University Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development) and completed my Masters in International Business with Schiller International University in Heidelberg, Germany.
In addition, I learned about government control of artists and infringements against their work in my own family history. My great-grandfather was the Hungarian sculptor Bela Ohmann, During Nazi occupation, he and his family were put into a camp because he was an artist. My grandmother never saw her parents again. Her mother was a German painter from Stuttgart. I grew up learning about art crimes and crimes against humanity because of my own family art history.
Each month your Secret Agent will receive a box of evidence and it will look like this. Using all the evidence your child will engage in the arts unlike any other program.
Our promise: full Immersion into mystery, art making, creative writing and art history. Help us solve our next Art Crime.
Program pricing varies based on need, location and availability. Each class is tailored to your own family, pets and family history etc. In addition, you and your agent will receive your own login on this website so that you can track and manage your progress for each case. The student page is a sample of curriculum developed with a 12 year old student during our initial pilot testing. In 2021 I participated in a teacher workshop with the Crocker Museum in Sacramento, California. Their program was designed to work with teachers on their approach to curriculum using the SEL method (Social and Emotional Learning.)
